Green Schools NS Reaches over 290 Schools Across Nova Scotia in 2025–2026
Back to newsThe Green Schools NS program is proud to celebrate exciting news from the 2025–2026 school year.
So far this year, our Engagement Officers have connected with 294 schools across Nova Scotia, reaching students and educators through both in-person and virtual classroom visits. These visits have included a diverse range of learning communities, including public schools, private schools, First Nations schools, and more throughout the province.
Every classroom visit is an opportunity to inspire the next generation of environmental leaders. Through engaging presentations, discussions, and activities, students learn about energy efficiency, the importance of conserving resources such as water and electricity, and the many green habits they can adopt in their daily lives to help protect our planet.
From turning off unused lights and electronics to making thoughtful choices about transportation and waste reduction, students across Nova Scotia are discovering that small actions can make a big difference. Their questions, curiosity, and commitment to sustainability continue to inspire us.
We are incredibly grateful to the teachers, administrators, and students who have welcomed Green Schools NS into their classrooms this year. Your participation helps build a stronger culture of energy awareness and environmental stewardship across our province.
As the school year continues, we look forward to connecting with even more teachers and students to empower young Nova Scotians to take action for a greener future.
Thank you to all the schools, educators, and students who have been part of this journey. We truly appreciate your support and commitment to creating positive change for our communities and our environment.
