Brookhouse Elementary Excels with energy efficiency!

Brookhouse Elementary is a very busy school!

Many students learn here all day long, and then keep on learning in the Excel after school program. Green Schools Nova Scotia spent a day in the school with two grade 6 classes and also with the Excel students. There were new faces everywhere!

The grade 6 students had some foundational knowledge about energy efficiency and some students already knew about Compact Fluorescent Lights (CFLs), and one student knew they had an LED in their room at home. They discussed different light technologies, and the Energy Star label on energy efficient products. One teacher, Ms Ayers, has already had the Residential Direct Installation program from Efficiency Nova Scotia at her home. Great job saving energy with energy efficient light bulbs!
