Lights off and head outside!

I don’t know about you, but the biggest challenge of heading back to work after my summer off is being inside. After spending so much time outside all summer it’s a big change over the first few days of work and school. Similarly, I bet the students we teach and engage every day are having just as hard of a time adjusting to spending more time indoors.

Well, my solution is to head outside to work a few times throughout the day!

Why not join me by turning off the lights, shutting down the electronics, and heading outside to work and learn. Based on the number of social media posts I have seen from schools across Nova Scotia there are a lot of teachers doing just that. 

It can be as simple as taking work that you normally do inside outdoors. Or maybe you choose to do more active learning through sidewalk chalk and gardening.  The possibilities are only limited by our imagination.  But if your imagination is already worn out from your transition back to school, check out some of our great resources such as:
