Today is World Population Day!

Back to news

World Population Day happens on July 11th every year. It seeks to raise awareness of global population issues. This year, the theme is all about investing in teenage girls.

World Population Day was created by the Governing Council of the United Nations Development Programme in 1989. It’s creation was inspired by the Five Billion Day on July 11th, 1987, which was the approximate date when the world’s population reached five billion people.
